Technical details
The IMF demuxer fails to validate asset map path elements, permitting absolute paths, URLs, and ".." components that escape the package directory. An attacker can craft a malicious IMF package with unvalidated ASSETMAP paths to demux local MXF files, probe file existence and size, or trigger server-side file access. The vulnerability affects versions 5.0 through 9.0.2 and requires the attacker to supply the crafted input file.
