Technical details
An out-of-bounds read vulnerability exists in Microsoft DNS Server's DNS request processing logic. An authenticated attacker with network access can send a specially crafted DNS packet that triggers the out-of-bounds read, causing the DNS service to crash and deny service. The vulnerability requires authentication and network access but does not allow code execution or data extraction.
