A security vulnerability has been identified in the Windows Print Spooler, the service responsible for managing print jobs. An attacker who already has basic access to a computer could exploit this flaw to view sensitive information that should normally be protected. Technical details
An out-of-bounds read vulnerability (CWE-125) exists in the Microsoft Windows Print Spooler components. The flaw is triggered when the spooler service improperly handles memory buffers during print job processing. An attacker with low-privileged local access can exploit this to read data outside of the intended memory range, potentially disclosing sensitive system information. The attack requires local authentication but no user interaction. Microsoft has released security updates to address this issue across affected Windows and Windows Server versions.
