Technical details
An out-of-bounds write vulnerability (CWE-787) exists in MediaTek GenieZone due to a missing bounds check during memory operations. A local attacker who has already obtained 'System' level privileges can exploit this flaw to achieve further escalation of privilege within the secure environment. The exploit does not require user interaction. MediaTek has released a fix under Patch ID ALPS10873936 to address this issue by implementing proper boundary validation.
