CVE-2026-109468 · Severity: high · CVSS 7.5 · Published 2026-10-15

ASP.NET Core, a web application framework used to build cloud and enterprise applications, contains a flaw that allows unauthenticated attackers to exhaust server resources and cause service outages. An attacker on the network can trigger uncontrolled resource allocation, bringing the affected application offline without needing valid credentials or user interaction.

## Technical details

The vulnerability is a resource exhaustion flaw in ASP.NET Core that lacks proper limits or throttling on resource allocation. An unauthenticated attacker can send specially crafted network requests to trigger uncontrolled consumption of server resources (CPU, memory, connections, or similar), resulting in denial of service. The attack requires only network access and no authentication or user interaction.
